Hello everyone! Heyo! Welcome back to Scattering Flowers with Elise and Miles, a podcast where you read the daily gospels and the saint of the day.
Let’s get started!Today is Tuesday, June 30th, and for the summer weeks, we are going to do the ABCs of our Catholic Faith and Saints.
Today is the letter Q for Queenship of Mary, and the scripture to reflect on is Revelation 12, 1.
And a great sign appeared in heaven, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.
The Blessed Mother Mary, sometimes known as Queen Mary, she is the mother of the greatest king of all, Jesus.
We call her queen and she is very special because she listens to everyone and brings their requests to her son.
She is the queen because her son Jesus is the king of everything.
Mary’s crown is the one we usually see in church, shines on the outside because it is golden and very beautiful.
But what is most important is what’s inside.
She is full of love, patience, humility, and great faith in God.
The Feast of Mary Queen, our church celebrates this feast on August 22nd.
It’s a day to remember that Mary is in heaven, happy and alive, and from there she is to continue to watch over us.
Today’s saint of the day is Q, the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The title Queen of Heaven is an ancient one used by the church fathers from the first centuries of Christianity.
The Regina Calli, Queen of Heaven, is a beautiful prayer in honor of Mary as Mother of the Risen Lord.
It may be recited and chanted or sung at any time, but it is often prayed instead of the Angelus during the Eastern season.
Legend tells that Saint Gregory the Great composed the prayer after hearing angels chanting its opening lines as he walked through the streets of Rome on Easter morning.
Pope Pius XI compared the Blessed Mother to a rainbow that appears after the rain.
She brings us God’s peace in the midst of the storms of our lives.
There is a very special image that speaks of Mary Queen in the book of Revelation.
It says that there is a woman with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and the crown of stars on her head.
That woman is Mary, and the twelve stars are the virtues.
Mary is in the heart of God and also in our hearts.
We meditate upon the coronation of Mary as Queen of Heaven when we pray the fifth glorious mystery of the Rosary.
You can even tell Mary your problems or ask for her to pray for somebody, and then she’ll tell it to God, and then he will bless them or help your problem.
Let’s pray.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Dear God, thank you for Mary.
Thank you for the Queen of the Universe.
And thank you that we always have somebody to pray to.
Saint Mary, the Virgin, pray for us.
Amen.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Thank you so much for listening.
We’ll be back tomorrow scattering more flowers.
See ya! See you!
