Hello everyone! Heyo! Welcome back to Scattering Flowers with Elise and Miles, a podcast where you read the daily Gospels and the Saint of the Day.

Let’s get started! Today is Tuesday, June 16th, and for the summer weeks we are going to do the ABCs of our Catholic faith and saints.

Today is the letter G for Guardian Angel, and the scripture to reflect on is Exodus 23 20.

Behold, I send an angel before you to guard you on the way and to bring you to the place which I have prepared.

Did you know that God gave you a special helper from heaven?

Someone who watches over you every single day?

Your guardian angel.

A guardian angel is a real angel that God created just for you.

Their job is to protect you, guide you, and help you make good choices.

They are always with you, even if you can’t see them.

Angels are mentioned throughout the whole Bible, not just Christmas and Easter.

Today’s Saint of the Day is G.

Saint Gabriel the Archangel.

He is a patron saint of communicators and radio broadcasters.

Saint Gabriel the Archangel is one of God’s chief messengers.

His name means God is my strength or man of God.

He is best foreknown in the Bible for visiting the Virgin Mary to share the amazing news that she would be the mother of Jesus.

In the Old and New Testaments of the Bible, Gabriel appears whenever God has a very important life-changing message to deliver.

You’ve had a guardian angel your whole life.

God gives each person a guardian angel from the moment they’re born.

Your angel loves you and brings your prayers up to God.

So when you feel scared, lonely, or unsure, your guardian angel is right there whispering, don’t worry, God is with you.

We can, of course, pray straight to God.

He has also given us angels and saints to pray to also.

Like our guardian angels like my sister talked about today.

The archangel like Saint Gabriel live in heaven and always in the presence of God.

They are always listening to God and awaiting his orders, knowing that angels are there to protect and pray for us to make us feel very safe.

Let’s pray a guardian angel prayer in the name of the Father and Son and the Holy Spirit.

Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God’s love commits me here.

Ever this day be at my side to light and guard and rule to guide.

Amen.

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Thank you so much for listening.

We’ll be back tomorrow scattering more flowers.

See ya!
