Hello everyone, my name is Elise Brooklyn and this is Scattering Flowers, a podcast where we scatter flowers of faith.
I’m so happy to be with you reading the daily Gospels together.
Let’s get started! Today is Monday, March 17th, and we will be reading Luke 6, 36-38.
Follow along in your Bible if you have one.
Now let’s read Luke 6, 36-38.
Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful.
Judge not, and you will not be judged.
Condemn not, and you will not be condemned.
Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
Live, and it will be given to you.
Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap.
For the measure you give will be the measure you get back.
Happy St.
Patrick’s Day! How neat that today’s reading is what it is and really can be thought of with St.
Patrick.
Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
When Patrick was 16, he was kidnapped by Irish raiders and sold as a slave.
After six years as a shepherd, Patrick escaped back to Britain, where he became a priest before returning to Ireland as a missionary.
St.
Patrick could have been mad and not want to show God’s love after what happened to him, but he spent his life sharing God’s love to the Irish people.
Let’s pray.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Dear God, Help us to forgive, not judge, and show mercy to others.
Christ with me.
Christ before me.
Christ behind me.
Christ in me.
Christ beneath me.
Christ above me.
Christ on my right.
Christ on my left.
Christ when I lie down.
Christ when I sit.
Christ when I sing.
Christ in my heart, of everyone who thinks of me.
Christ in the mouth, of everyone who speaks of me.
Christ in every eye that sees me.
Christ in every ear that hears me.
St.
Patrick, pray for us.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Thank you so much for listening.
I’ll be back tomorrow, scattering more flowers.
See ya!
