Hello everyone! My name is Elise Brooklyn and this is Scattering Flowers, a podcast where we scatter flowers of faith.
I’m so happy to be with you reading the Daily Gospels together.
Let’s get started! Today is Wednesday, February 19th, and we will be reading Mark 8, 22 through 26.
Follow along in your Bible if you have one.
Now, let’s read Mark 8, 22 through 26.
Then he looked up and said, I see men, but they look like trees walking.
Then again he laid his hands upon his eyes, and looked intently, and was restored, and saw everything clearly.
And he sent him away to his home, saying, Do not even enter the village.
There are some animals that are blind.
Like a cat when it’s born, they have to rely on their mom.
Moles have to rely on their noses, and even bats have to rely on their ears.
But if you’re a seeing person, you don’t necessarily have to rely on someone to see things, right?
But spiritually, we need to rely on Jesus to see things.
In today’s reading, you probably wonder why Jesus had to try two times to heal the blind man.
The first time he touched him, he said he could see a couple people walking like trees.
The second time, he could fully see.
Today’s reading, I thought about how if we didn’t rely on Jesus throughout our life, then our vision of even Godly might be blurry.
So we should rely on Jesus to be our full sight.
Then we will have a clear understanding of his love for us, and how he wants to save us and protect us from sin.
Let’s pray.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Dear God, help my heart not to be blind.
Help me to rely on you always.
Amen.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Thank you so much for listening.
I’ll be back tomorrow scattering more flowers.
See ya!
