Hello everyone! My name is Elise Brooklyn and this is Scattering Flowers, a podcast where we scatter flowers of faith.
I’m so happy to be with you reading the Daily Gospels together.
Let’s get started! Today is Friday, January 10th, and we will be reading Luke 5, 12-16.
Follow along in your Bible if you have one.
Now let’s read Luke 5, 12-16.
While he was in one of the cities, there came a man full of leprosy.
And when he saw Jesus, he fell on his face and begged him, Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.
And he stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, I will be clean.
And immediately the leprosy left him.
And he charged him to tell no one, but go away and show yourself to the priest and make an offering for your cleansing, as Moses commanded, for a proof to the people.
But so much the more the report went abroad concerning him, and great multitudes gathered to hear and to be healed of their infirmities.
And he withdrew to the wilderness and prayed.
I love to snuggle up on the couch with my mom.
She gives good hugs too.
You know who else is a good snuggler?
My puppy! But in order to do that with them, we have to touch each other, right?
Today’s reading is about a man with leprosy.
If you have leprosy, you weren’t allowed to be touched.
How lonely and sad! The leper was so determined to worship God, he fell on his face before Jesus.
We should do the same.
Let nothing get in the way of worshiping God.
Let’s pray.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Dear God, help me not to be distracted and for me always to be ready to worship you.
Amen.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Thank you so much for listening.
I’ll be back next week scattering more flowers.
See ya!
