Hello everyone! My name is Elise Brooklyn and this is Scattering Flowers, a podcast where we scatter flowers of faith.
I’m so happy to be with you reading the daily Gospels together.
Let’s get started! Today is Monday December 30th and we’ll be reading Luke 2 36 through 40.
Follow along in your Bible if you have one.
Now let’s read Luke 2 36 through 40.
And there a prophet sees Anna, the daughter of Vanuul, the tribe of Asher.
She was of great age, having lived with her husband seven years from her virginity.
And as a widow till she was eighty-four, she did not depart from the temple, worshipping and fasting and prayer night all day.
And coming up at that very hour she gave thanks to God and spoke of Him to all who were looking for the redemption of Jerusalem.
And when they had performed everything according to the law of their Lord, they returned to Galilee, to their own city Nazareth.
And a child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom, and the favor of God was upon him.
Most of you know my brother and I are homeschooled.
My mom is our teacher.
We love it, but some days one of us doesn’t feel like school.
But my mom says often that it’s important to finish our school studies because it will make us smart and full of wisdom, especially for when we’re older.
Sometimes we roll our eyes or think she’s weird for saying that.
But I can also see what she means.
Jesus too had to grow up in strength and wisdom.
God found favor in him.
I hope he finds favor in me too.
Let’s pray.
In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, dear God, please be with me so I can continue to live in your goodness.
Amen.
In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, amen.
Thank you so much for listening.
I’ll be back tomorrow scattering more flowers.
See ya!
