Hello everyone, my name is Elise Brooklyn and this is Scattering Flowers, a podcast where we scatter flowers of faith.

I’m so happy to be with you reading the daily Gospels together.

Let’s get started! Today is Thursday, December 12th, and we’ll be reading Luke 1, 39-47.

Roll along in your Bible if you have one.

Now let’s read Luke 1, 39-47.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb.

And why is this granted me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

For behold, when the voice of your greeting came to my ears, the child in my womb leaped for joy.

And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord.

And Mary said, My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God the Savior.

The feast day of Lady Guadalupe is one of my dad’s favorite celebrations.

First, because he loves Mexican food, it’s his favorite, and it’s a good excuse for my mom to make her famous enchiladas and guacamole.

I’m drooling! But also because it’s the first saint he learned about before we converted to Catholicism.

It’s kind of cool that her feast day is around Advent, and we are preparing for Jesus' birth in our hearts.

You can think about the miracle of roses that Juan Diego received, and how Jesus showed himself to believe in him.

And you can think about Mary visiting Elizabeth, and how Jesus even showed himself to an unborn baby in Elizabeth’s belly.

Amazing! Let’s pray.

In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Dear God, help us to wait during Advent and prepare for your little miracles of showing yourself.

We love you.

Amen.

In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Thank you so much for listening.

I’ll be back tomorrow, scattering more flowers.

See ya!
