Hello everyone! My name is Elise Brooklyn and this is Scattering Flowers, a podcast where we scatter flowers of faith.
I’m so happy to be with you reading the Daily Gospels together.
Let’s get started! Today is Wednesday, December 4th, and we’ll be reading Matthew 18, 20, 9 through 37.
Follow along in your Bible if you have one.
Now let’s read Matthew 15, 29 through 37.
And Jesus went on from there, and passed along the Sea of Galilee.
And he went up on the mountain and sat down there.
And great crowds came to him, bringing with them the lame, the maimed, the blind, the mute, and many others.
And they put them at his feet, and he healed them.
So that the throng wondered when they saw the mute speaking, the maimed whole, the lame walking, and the blind seeing, and they glorified the God of Israel.
Then Jesus called to the disciples to them and said, I have compassion on the crowd because they have been with me now three days and have nothing to eat, and I am unwilling to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way.
And the disciples said to him, Where are we to get bread enough in the desert to feed so great a crowd?
And Jesus said to them, How many loaves have you?
They said, Seven, and a few small fish.
And commanding the crowd to sit down on the ground, he took the seven loaves and the fish, and having given thanks, he broke them and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds.
And they all ate and were satisfied, and they took up seven baskets full of broken pieces left over.
Those who ate were four thousand men besides women and children.
And sending away the crowds, he got into the boat and went to the region of Magadan.
My family was listening to a podcast this past Sunday for the start of Advent, and it reminded us of how the whole reason we wait for His birth during the season is to fulfill God’s plan of being born to save us and spend eternity with us.
God wants to heal and feed us all.
We need to accept and receive Him daily.
Let’s pray.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Dear God, help us stay close to you even though there are troubles in this world.
Help us to remember to receive you and give us grace too.
Amen.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Thank you so much for listening.
I’ll be back tomorrow scattering more flowers.
See ya!
