Hello everyone, my name is Elise Brooklyn and this is Scattering Flowers, a podcast where we scatter flowers of faith.

I’m so happy to be with you reading the daily Gospels together.

Let’s get started! Today is Monday, November 18th, and we’ll be reading Luke 18, 35-43.

Follow along in your Bible if you have one, now let’s read Luke 18, 35-43.

As he drew near to Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging, and hearing a multitude going by, he inquired what this meant.

He told him, Jesus of Nazareth is passing by.

And he cried, Jesus son of David, have mercy on me.

And those who were in front rebuked him, telling him to be silent.

But he cried out all the more, son of David, have mercy on me.

And Jesus stopped and commanded him to be brought to him.

And when he came near, he asked him, what do you want me to do for you?

He said, Lord, let me receive my sight.

And Jesus said to him, receive your sight, your faith has made you well.

And immediately he received his sight and followed him, glorifying God, and all the people when they saw it give praise to God.

I wanted to share some fun facts with you today.

Did you know a crocodile cannot stick its tongue out?

And a shrimp heart is in its head?

And the Bible is the first book ever printed on a printing press?

And the miracle in today’s reading is the last miracle Jesus performs during his life on earth?

So what can we learn from how the blind man called on Jesus?

As soon as Jesus called, he jumped up and went to him.

If we want to receive from God, we should be like the blind man, full of excitement.

It doesn’t matter to Jesus if we are super smart or perfect, it only matters that we call on him.

Let’s pray.

In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Dear Jesus, thank you that you love me and forgive me when I do wrong things, and that if I call on you, you will listen.

Amen.

In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Thank you so much for listening.

I’ll be back tomorrow, scattering more flowers.

See ya!
