Hello everyone! My name is Elise Brooklyn and this is Scattering Flowers, a podcast where we scatter flowers of faith.
I’m so happy to be with you reading the daily Gospels together.
Let’s get started! Today is Monday, November 4th, and we’ll be reading Luke 14, 13-14.
Follow along in your Bible if you have one.
Now let’s read Luke 14, 13-14.
But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the maimed, the lame, and the blind.
And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you.
You will be repaid at the resurrection of the just.
Every Advent season, we change up our school studies to do Christmas school.
We get a break from the normal school and get to focus on Christmas things.
It usually makes the season even better than it already is.
One of the things we do is go through our gently used toys and things that we haven’t played with in a while to donate.
We also do this program called the Angel Tree where we pick a family name off the tree at our church and buy them each an outfit and toys for the kids.
My mom always says if we want to ask more for Christmas then we should give to those in need.
Today’s reading is a good reminder of this.
We are making others happy by giving, but it also makes you feel good for sharing with them too.
Let’s pray.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Dear God, help me to be generous and give to others with a happy, genuine heart.
Amen.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Thank you so much for listening.
I’ll call you back tomorrow, scattering more flowers.
See ya!
