Now let’s read Matthew 5 1 through 12.
Seeing the crowds he went up on the mountain and when he sat down his disciples came to him and he opened his mouth and taught them saying blessed are the poor in the spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they shall be satisfied blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called sons of God blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake for theirs is the kingdom of heaven blessed are you when men revel you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account rejoice and be glad for your reward is great in heaven for so men persecute the prophets who were before you on Tuesday mornings at school we do a saint study we recently learned about st.
Tarshish he was a 12 year old boy who was asked to take the Holy Eucharist to a prison while he was on his way some boys stopped to bully him and tease him and they beat him up so bad that he ended up dying blessed are you who are persecuted is one of the Beatitudes which of the eight Beatitudes would make you be a saint I try to be perfect because I want to go to heaven I know I’m not even close to perfect but Jesus knows how much I try one of my favorite Saints st.
Therese wrote holiness consists simply in doing God’s will and being just what God wants us to be blessed are the pure of heart for they shall see God st.
Therese helps me see that Jesus will not be so hard on me even though trying to live out the Beatitudes we still can try to live our life holy and happily let’s pray in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit dear God give us courage to stay devoted to you because Jesus is what matters from you amen in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit amen oh I almost forgot happy All Saints Day everyone while you enjoy your candy from your trick-or-treating remember to set time to thank God for all the Saints thank you so much for listening I’ll be back next week scattering more flowers see ya
