Hello everyone, my name is Elise Brooklyn and this is Scattering Flowers, a podcast where we scatter flowers of faith.
I’m so happy to be with you reading the daily gospels together.
Let’s get started! Today is Thursday, October 31st and we will be reading Luke 13, 31-35.
At that very hour, some Pharisees came and said to him, Get away from here, for Herod wants to kill you.
And he said to them, Go and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow and the third day I finish my course.
Nevertheless, I must go on my way today and tomorrow and the day following, for it cannot be that a prophet should perish away from Jerusalem.
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, killing the prophets and stoning those who are sent to you! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you would not! Behold, your house is forsaken, and I tell you, you will not see me until you say, Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
When Thanksgiving and Christmas come around, we usually take time to be with our family.
We like to get together and talk about our fun memories, eat good food we’ve cooked together, and spend time playing games and having a good time together.
Some years have passed, and we haven’t been able to make it work with all of our different schedules.
The years that we haven’t been able to get together, though, let me tell you, my grandma does it up big.
Not only does she have too much food and cookies, but she always has to get a big family photo together.
She always updates her picture while at home.
The years it doesn’t work out for all of us to get together, it’s a little more sad than the years we are together.
My grandma has a lot like the love that Jesus has for his children.
The Bible teaches us that Jesus loves his children so much that he won’t stop calling until all his children come back.
Let’s pray.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, dear God, thank you for being our family and for loving us so much that you keep calling us to come to you.
Amen.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, amen.
Thank you so much for listening.
I’ll be back tomorrow scattering more flowers.
See ya!
