Hello everyone my name is Elise Brooklyn and this is Scattering Flowers, a podcast where we scatter flowers of faith.

I’m so happy to be with you reading the daily Gospels together.

Let’s get started! Today is Monday October 28th and we’ll be reading Luke 6 12 through 16.

Follow along in your Bible if you have one.

Now let’s read Luke 6 12 through 16.

In these days he went out into the hills to pray and all night he continued in prayer to God and when it was day he called his disciples to choose from them twelve whom he named apostles Simon whom he named Peter and Andrew his brother and James and John and Philip and Bartholomew and Matthew and Thomas and James the son of Alphaeus and Simon who was called the Zealot and Judas the son of James and Judas Iscariot who became a traitor.

My dad’s favorite superhero is Batman.

He likes him because he doesn’t really have a superpower but he just uses his smarts and has a lot of geeky gadgets and cool cars he drives around.

But do you know how the police commissioner calls on Batman for help?

With the bat signal it’s letting him know that the city needs his help just like Jesus calls the disciples in today’s reading.

Jesus also wants us to follow him.

He wants us to be a part of saving the world by sharing the good news with those who might not know about it.

You don’t have to be a superhero or Batman with his gadgets you just need to be willing to share God’s love.

Let’s pray.

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit dear God thank you for calling us to follow you.

Amen.

In the name of the Father and Son and the Holy Spirit amen.

Thank you so much for listening.

I’ll be back tomorrow scattering more flowers.

See ya!
