Hello everyone, welcome back.
My name is Elise Brooklyn and this is Scattering Flowers, a podcast where we scatter flowers of faith.
Today is Tuesday, September 22nd and we will be reading Luke 12, 35-38.
Follow along in your Bible if you have one.
Now let’s read Luke 12, 35-38.
Let your loins be girded and your lambs burning, and be like men who are waiting for their master to come home from the marriage feast, so that they may be open to him at once when he comes and knocks.
Blessed are those servants whom the master finds awake when he comes, truly I say to you.
He will put on his apron and have them sit at table, and he will come and serve them.
If he comes in the second watch or in the third and finds them so, blessed are those servants.
I like to play hide and seek with my friends and cousins.
My brother is pretty silly and likes to play it because he likes to scare people when they find him, so he’ll jump out and make us scream.
Anyway, when you play hide and seek, someone is the seeker, and they count while shading their eyes for people to run and hide, and then say, ready or not, here I come.
Jesus is saying the same thing in scripture.
When he comes back, will you be ready for action?
Will you be ready to open the door when he knocks?
Hide and seek is a great game to play with my friends, but there is no place to hide where God can’t find us.
Do you hear Jesus calling, ready or not, here I come?
Are you ready?
Let’s pray.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, dear God, thank you for being close to us and knowing everything about us.
Help me to be better at being ready for you.
Amen.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, amen.
Thank you so much for listening.
I’ll be back tomorrow, scattering more flowers.
See ya!
