146. Friday, October 18, 2024

Hello everyone, welcome back.

My name is Elise Brooklyn and this is Scattering Flowers, a podcast where we scatter flowers of faith.

Today is Friday, October 18th, and we will be reading Luke 10, 1-9.

Follow along in your Bible if you have one.

Now let’s read Luke 10, 1-9.

After this the Lord appointed seventy others and sent them on ahead of him two by two in each town and place where he himself was about to come.

And he said to them, The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.

Pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.

Go your way.

Behold, I send you out as lambs in the midst of wolves.

Carry no purse, no bag, no sandals, and satchel.

No one on the road, whatever house you enter first, say, Peace be to this house.

And if a son of peace is there, your peace shall rest upon him.

But if not, you shall return to you and remain in the same house, eating and drinking what they provide.

For the laborer deserves his wages.

Do not go from house to house.

Whatever you enter a town and they receive you, eat what is set before you.

Heal the sick in it and say to them, The kingdom of God has come near to you.

I have a couple favorite holidays.

The usual ones like Christmas and Easter, of course, but I’m kind of a fan of Fourth of July.

I like the hot dogs, watermelon, and I like to do the sparklers and pop it in our driveway.

We usually go all out and dress in red, white, and blue too.

We should be proud to be American.

Today’s reading says that we belong to heaven.

We belong to God and have a home in heaven someday.

We should be excited to tell others the gospel.

Let’s pray.

In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, dear God, thank you for making us part of your family.

Help us to understand how special that is.

Please help us to share the gospel with others.

Amen.

In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, amen.

Thank you so much for listening.

I’ll be back next week scattering more flowers.

See ya!
