Hello everyone, welcome back.
My name is Elise Brooklyn and this is Scattering Flowers, a podcast where we scatter flowers of faith.
Today is Wednesday, October 16th and we will be reading Luke 11, 42-46.
Follow along in your Bible if you have one.
Now let’s read Luke 11, 42-46.
But woe to you, Pharisees, for you thine the mist and rue and every herb and neglect justice and the love of God.
These you ought to have done without neglecting the others.
Woe to you, Pharisees, for you love the best seed in the synagogues and salutations in the market places.
Woe to you, for you are like graves which are not seen and men walk all over them without knowing it.
One of the lawyers answered him, Teacher, in saying this you reproach us also.
And he said, Woe to you, lawyers, also, for you load men with burdens hard to bear and you yourselves do not touch the burdens with one of your fingers.
When my mom drops me and my brother off at new things or longer events, she will always say, Remember who you are, be yourself and be proud that you belong to God.
Jesus was upset with the Pharisees because they were telling people to do things, but they were not willing to do them themselves.
What Jesus wanted for the Pharisees, he wants for us now.
To lead by example, we should always mean what we say and live what we say.
Let’s pray.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, dear God, thank you for being with us.
Help me to live, practice what I preach, and live by good example, Amen.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Thank you so much for listening.
I’ll be back tomorrow, scattering more flowers.
See ya!
