Hello everyone, welcome back! My name is Elise Brooklyn and this is Scattering Flowers, a podcast where we scatter flowers of faith.
Today is Friday, October 11th, and we’ll be reading Luke 11, 15-26.
Follow along in your Bible if you have one! Now let’s read Luke 11, 15-26.
But some of them said, He casts out demons by Beelzebul, the prince of demons, while others to test him sought from him a sign from heaven.
But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste and house falls upon house, and as Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand?
For I say that I cast out demons by Beelzebul, and if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons cast them out?
Therefore they shall be your judges.
But if it is by the finger of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.
When a strong man, firmly armed, guards his own place, his goods are in peace.
But when one stronger than he assails him and overcomes him, he takes away his armor and his weapons.
He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters.
When the unclean spirit has gone out of man, he passes through waterless places seeking rest and finding none, he says, I will return to my house from which I came.
And when he comes, he finds it swept and put in order.
When he goes and brings seven other spirits more evil than himself, and they enter and dwell there, and the last state of the man becomes worse than the first.
My family is a big family of prayer.
We pray together separately when we are upset or even when we are joyful.
But let me totally be honest with you.
Sometimes I forget to start the day with prayer.
It’s sometimes easy to forget because I overslept, or I am distracted, or I am a little tired that day.
Sometimes I am homeschooled.
My mom, who is also my teacher, on those days can sometimes notice.
She will say, did you pray today?
You are kind of grumpy.
Did you read your Bible?
She also will say that praying is helping me fight against whatever the devil throws at me for that day.
Praying each morning, day, night, whenever, really does make a difference.
Let’s pray.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, dear God, I love you for protecting me from the evil one.
And thank you that you are really easy to come to for prayers.
Thank you for being my Savior.
Amen.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Thank you so much for listening.
I’ll be back next week, scattering more flowers.
See ya!
