Hello everyone, welcome back! My name is Elise Brooklyn and this is Scattering Flowers, a podcast where you scatter flowers of faith.
Today is Friday, October 4th, and we will be reading Luke 10, 13-16.
Follow along in your Bible if you have one.
Now, let’s read Luke 10, 13-16.
Woe to you, Terazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works done in you have done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
But it shall be more terrible in the judgment for Tyre and Sidon than for you.
And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven?
You shall be brought down to Hades.
He who hears you hears me, and he who rejects you rejects me, and he who rejects me rejects him who sent me.
I really like Tootsie Rolls, not the lollipop, well, I mean I like those too.
But I like Tootsie Rolls when they’re fresh, soft, and chewy.
I don’t like them when they’re hard and old and hurt your teeth and jaw to chew.
Today, when you read about what Jesus is saying to the towns he was doing ministry in, think of a Tootsie Roll, an old, hard, not fun to chew Tootsie Roll.
Jesus was calling the people out of these towns, saying that they had hardened hearts and refused to change how they were living in order to serve God.
We should want Jesus to change our lives.
Woohoo! Let’s pray.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, dear God, help us to remember that all that matters is serving you.
Help me to keep my heart soft, so that you may change my sinful ways.
Amen.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, amen.
Thank you so much for listening.
I’ll be back next week, scattering more flowers.
See ya!
