Hello everyone, welcome back! My name is Elyse Brooklyn and this is Scattering Flowers, a podcast where we scatter flowers of fea.
Today is St.
Therese the Little Flower’s feast day.
My podcast is inspired by her quote, the only way I can prove my love is by scattering flowers, and these flowers are every little sacrifice, every glance and word, and the doing of the least actions for love.
I love St.
Therese.
She had a mission to make God loved.
I hope to spread wild flowers of love like her as I try to become a little saint by praying, reading the Bible, and spending time with Jesus every day.
St.
Therese, pray for us! Today is Tuesday, October 1st, and we will be reading Luke 9, 51-56.
Follow along in your Bible if you have one.
Now let’s read Luke 9, 51-56.
When the days drew near for him to be received up, he sent his face to go to Jerusalem, and he sent messengers ahead of him, who went and entered a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him.
But the people would not receive him, because his face was set toward Jerusalem.
And when his disciples James and John saw it, they said, Lord, do you want us to bid fire, come down from heaven, and consume them?
But he turned and rebuked them, and they went on to another village.
My grandma is a football fanatic.
She says she’s this way because she grew up watching it with her dad.
She really enjoys watching college football the most.
The reason why I thought of my grandma today with this reading is that it’s football season.
Sometimes there are lots of people who love to watch NFL football games, and sometimes the football games can get in the way of you attending Mass or doing things with your whole heart for Jesus.
Now, it’s okay to love watching football games and cheering your favorite team on.
But the problem is, when we let the game schedule things get in the way of how we serve God, we don’t want anything to come between our lives and his love.
Let’s pray.
In the name of the Father, and Son, and Holy Spirit, dear God, help us to obey and to know what it means to truly follow you.
Thank you for your love.
We love you.
In Jesus' name, amen.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, amen.
Thank you so much for listening.
I’ll be back tomorrow scattering more flowers.
See ya!
