Hello everyone, welcome back.
My name is Elise Brooklyn and this is Scattering Flowers, a podcast where we scatter flowers of faith.
Today is Friday, September 27th and we will be reading Luke 9, 18-22.
Follow along in your Bible if you have one.
Now let’s read Luke 9, 18-22.
Now it happened that as he was praying alone, the disciples were with him.
And he asked them, Who do the people say that I am?
And they answered, John the Baptist, but others say Elijah, and others that one of the old prophets has risen.
And he said to them, But who do you say that I am?
And Peter answered, The Christ of God, but he charged the commandment, Them to all, this say to no one, saying, The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejoiced by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes, and be killed, but on the third day be raised.
Joan of Arc is one of my favorite saints.
She was one of the bravest girls I know.
I like her because she wasn’t afraid of anything.
One of her quotes even is, I am not afraid, I was born to do this.
I like her because I am a freighty cat.
I am easily scared of things and I also get nervous easily.
I thought about me versus Joan of Arc and bravery if I was asked by Jesus, Who do you say that I am?
I mean, I know who he is, but I kind of think I would get super nervous and maybe not answer as confidently as I should.
So I would have to definitely tap into my favorite Saint Joan of Bravery and remind myself that I was born to do this.
I was born to say that I believe in Jesus Christ, Son of God.
Let’s pray.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, dear God, help us to remember that all that matters is serving you.
Help me to be brave in claiming that you are Christ.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Thank you so much for listening.
I’ll be back next week scattering more flowers.
See ya!
