Hello everyone, welcome back! My name is Evie Sprooklyn and this is Scattering Flowers, a podcast where we scatter flowers of faith.
Today is Tuesday, September 24th, and we will be reading Luke 8, 19-21.
Follow along in your Bible if you have one! Now let’s read Luke 8, 19-21.
Then his mother and his brethren came to him, but they could not reach him for the crowd.
And he was told, Your mother and your brethren are standing outside desiring to see you.
But he said to them, My mother and my brethren are those who hear the word of God and do it.
It’s fun when my family comes to visit.
It doesn’t happen super often because we live pretty far away from each other.
But when it does, I have fun.
I especially like to play with the babies of my cousins and hold them and snuggle them.
They’re just so cute! And it’s also super fun.
We talk about when my mom and dad were younger and the things they used to do.
It can get pretty silly hearing some of the things my grandparents remember.
But what do you think Jesus meant when he called everyone who hears his word, mother and brothers?
I think some people make it too complicated and try to act like it’s a sad thing.
But what I think it would be pretty cool to be part of Jesus’s true family.
You can be his brother or sister.
God gave this gift to us through grace.
We are made God’s children through our baptism.
Let’s pray.
In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, dear God, thank you for such amazing grace and letting us be a part of your family.
In Jesus name, Amen.
In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Thank you so much for listening.
I’ll be back tomorrow scattering more flowers.
See ya!
