Hello everyone, welcome back.
My name is Evie Sprooklyn and this is Scattering Flowers, a podcast where we scatter flowers of faith.
Today is Monday, September 23rd and we will be reading Luke 8, 16-18.
Follow along in your Bible if you have one.
Now let’s read Luke 8, 16-18.
No one, after lighting a lamp, covers it with a vessel or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a stand, that those who enter may see the light.
For nothing is hidden that shall not be made manifest, nor nothing anything secret that shall be known and come too late.
Very keyed then how you hear, for to him who is will more be given, and from him who has not, even what he thinks that he has will be taken away.
Look around your house or the room you’re sitting in while you listen today.
How many lamps do you count?
The room I’m in right now, not counting the overhead light of the room, there are three littler lamps.
There are a lot of types of lights.
We all have lamps at home and where we work, table lamps, floor lamps, reading lamps, lamps as decoration, outside street lamps, walkway lamps, but I don’t think any of us have an under the bed lamp.
Do you turn on a lamp that hides it under a bed?
Lamps are for light, that’s what lamps do.
We are just like these lamps, we are all different.
We think different, act different, and just have different personalities, but as a Christian we are called to shine, so that everyone sees the light of Jesus, not hide it away and keep it a secret.
Let’s pray.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, dear God, help me to let the light of Jesus shine, and help me to shine bright with your love.
Thank you for helping me in all things.
In Jesus name, Amen.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Thank you so much for listening.
I’ll be back tomorrow, scattering more flowers.
See ya!
