Hello everyone, welcome back.
My name is Elise Brooklyn and this is Scattering Flowers, a podcast where we scatter flowers of faith.
Today is Monday, July 29th and we will be reading John 11, 19-27.
Follow along in your Bible if you have one.
Now let’s read John 11, 19-27.
And many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary to console them concerning their brother.
When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went and met him, while Mary sat in the house.
Martha said to Jesus, Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.
And even now I know that whatever you ask from God, God will give you.
Jesus said to her, your brother will rise again.
Martha said to him, I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.
Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life.
He who believes in me through he die, yet shall he live.
And whoever lives and believes in me shall never die.
Do you believe this?
She said to him, Yes, Lord, I believe that you are Christ, Son of God, he who has come into the world.

We will always understand how God is working in our lives.
False.
Mary and Martha and all their friends all believed in Jesus' power to heal.
They believed that he was the Messiah.
But still Jesus wanted to increase their faith.
He wanted them to see the full power of the glory of God, to give truth to his promises.
They said they believed in the resurrection on the final day, but had not yet seen God’s power to raise the dead.
Jesus allowed Lazarus to die in order to show God’s ultimate power.
Let’s pray.
In the name of the Father, Son, Holy Spirit, dear Jesus, thank you for always being with us to help us to always have faith in you.
Amen.
In the name of the Father, Son, Holy Spirit, Amen.
Thank you so much for listening.
I’ll be back tomorrow scattering more flowers.
See ya!
