Hello everyone, welcome back.
My name is Elise Brooklyn and this is Scattering Flowers, a podcast where we scatter flowers of faith.
Today is Wednesday, July 17th and we will be reading Matthew 11, 25-27.
Follow along in your Bible if you have one.
Now let’s read Matthew 11, 25-27.
At that time Jesus declared, I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you had hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to infants.
Yes, Father, for such was your gracious will.
All things have been delivered to me by my Father, and no one who knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him.
My mom’s best friend had a baby last year.
He is the cutest, so that makes him about eight months old now.
We always get cute videos of him of all the new things he started to learn.
The most recent one was he took two tiny steps and everyone started cheering and he plopped right down on the ground and started crying.
He wouldn’t get back up until his dad offered him a finger to grab.
This is just what Jesus is saying.
He says he shows things to the childlike because those that are like my baby cousin and rely on the person they trust, like his dad’s finger, then don’t act like they already know everything, like if my dad gave me his finger for me to walk.
Let’s pray.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, dear God, help me to remember to not act as if I know everything.
There is so much more I can learn about you to grow closer to you.
Amen.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, amen.
Thank you so much for listening.
I’ll be back tomorrow scattering more flowers.
See ya!
