54. Wednesday, June 26 2024

Hello everyone, welcome back.

My name is Elise Brooklyn and this is Scattering Flowers, a podcast where we scatter flowers of faith.

Today is Wednesday, June 26th and we will be reading Matthew 7, 15-20.

Follow along in your Bible if you have one.

Now let’s read Matthew 7, 15-20.

Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.

Ye will know them by their fruits.

Are grapes gathered from thorns, or figs from thistles?

So every sound tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears evil fruit.

A sound tree cannot bear evil fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.

For every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

Thus you will know them by their fruits.

Have you ever eaten a bad piece of fruit, like a mushy part of an apple or a weird grape?

They don’t taste very good, trust me, I’ve done it before.

They have a moldy type of taste that’s actually really hard to get rid of the taste for a little bit of time.

I think Jesus used the bad fruit as an example to remind us to check out our friends and how they might influence us.

How do they dress?

What words do they use?

What music are they influenced by?

If none of these are good and bring us out of godliness for me, should I be around?

Be aware.

Let’s pray.

In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, dear God, help us not to be led astray, and help me to be one of a kind person.

I am supposed to be in you, and not be influenced by a bad fruit.

Amen.

In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Thank you so much for listening.

I’ll be back tomorrow scattering more flowers.

See ya!
