Hello everyone, welcome back.
My name is Elise Brooklyn and this is Scattering Flowers, a podcast where we scatter flowers of faith.
Today is Tuesday, June 25th and we will be reading Matthew 7, 6 and 12 through 14.
Follow along in your Bible if you have one.
Now let’s read Matthew 7, 6 and 12 through 18.
Do not give dogs what is holy and do not throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample underfoot and turn to attack you.
So whatever you wish that men would not do to you, do so to them.
For this is the law of the prophets.
Enter by the narrow gate, for the gate is wide and the way is easy, that leads to destruction.
And those who enter by it are many.
For the gate is narrow and the way is hard and leads to life.
And those who find it are few.
I got a little help for today’s reading.
There are lots of examples of things I didn’t want to understand in the wrong way.
Dog and pigs and gates, phew.
You might wonder, what in the world does that have to do with me?
Have you heard of something called the golden rule?
The golden rule is in the Bible and it says, do unto others as you would have done unto you.
Showing kindness is not about being nice to just your friends.
It’s about being kind to everyone, especially your enemies.
You don’t always know what’s going on in the other person’s heart.
God calls us to show kindness to everyone.
So let’s do our best to follow the golden rule.
Let’s pray.
In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, dear Jesus, help me to live the right way and always point me in the direction to go.
Help me to treat people right.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Thank you so much for listening.
I’ll be back tomorrow.
Scatter more flowers.
See ya!
