Hello everyone, welcome back! My name is Elise Brooklyn and this is Scattering Flowers, a podcast where we scatter flowers of faith.
Today is Wednesday, June 12th, and we will be reading Matthew 5, 17-19.
Follow along in your Bible if you have one.
Now, let’s read Matthew 5, 17-19.
Have you ever thrown a penny into a fountain to make a wish, and has it ever come true?
I don’t ever think I really got a wish to come true, plus I think it’s just a silly game.
I thought of this after reading today’s Bible passage.
Because people back then, and even us now, don’t have to wish for eternal life, because of Jesus giving His life, we just have to accept Him as our Savior.
Jesus traveled to preach and teach the Good News, ending up with the biggest surprise of His resurrection.
In those short years He preached, He brought in a new way of salvation, through Him.
In verses 17 and 18, we read that Jesus has fulfilled, is fulfilling, and shall completely fulfill the promises of the Old Testament.
Let’s pray.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, dear God, help us to love You and try to live more wholly, so that we might receive the gift of eternal life, because of what You did for us.
Thank You for dying on the cross for me.
Amen.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Thank you so much for listening.
I’ll be back tomorrow, scattering more flowers.
See ya!
