Hello everyone, welcome back! My name is Elise Brooklynn, and this is Scattering Flowers, a podcast where we scatter flowers of faith.
Today is Tuesday, May 28th, and we will be reading Mark 10, 28-31.
Follow along in your Bible if you have one.
Now let’s read Mark 10, 28-31.
Peter began to say to him, Behold, we have left everything and followed you.
Jesus said, Truly I say to you, there is no one who has left the house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands for my sake and for the gospel, who will not receive the hundredfold.
Now in this time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands with possessions and the age to come to eternal life, but many that are first will be last and last first.
When you go to eat at a restaurant, you sometimes have a waiter or waitress to come and serve you.
They pour your water, take your order, and bring you your plates of food.
The waiter doesn’t sit down and join you at the table to eat when he’s hungry.
He doesn’t give himself food and take care of himself while he’s working at your table.
A servant is a person who takes care and needs of others first, of their own needs.
Wait until everyone else has been served.
Jesus wants us to be like that.
He wants us to be humble and put others before ourselves.
Let’s pray.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, dear God, help us to be the servant to others.
Help us to let others go first or excuse people when they are selfish.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Thank you so much for listening.
I’ll be back tomorrow scattering more flowers.
See ya!
