Hello everyone, welcome back.
My name is Elyse Brooklyn and this is Scattering Flowers, a podcast where we scatter flowers of faith.
Today is Wednesday, May 22nd and we will be reading Mark 9, 38-40.
Follow along in your Bible if you have one.
Now let’s read Mark 9, 38-40.
John said to him, Teacher, we saw a man casting out demons in your name, and we forbid him because he was not following us.
But Jesus said, Do not forbid him, for no one who does a mighty work in my name will be able soon after to speak evil of me.
I was really little so I don’t remember learning to walk, but I’m pretty sure my mom and dad were helpful.
I don’t think they shoved me down every time I took a step.
I know they held me up and helped me if I fell down.
Jesus is saying in today’s scripture to be helpful to those who are learning to pay attention to God.
Kind of like when we were first learning to walk, and you need help from your parents.
We should be helpful to those who are learning about hearing God’s voice.
Let’s pray.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, dear God, thank you for Jesus who invites us to learn from him how to pay attention to you and help us to know how to share it with others.
Thank you.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Thank you so much for listening.
I’ll be back tomorrow scattering more flowers.
See ya!
