23. Tuesday, May 14 2024

Hello everyone, welcome back.

My name is Elise Brooklyn, and this is Scattering Flowers, a podcast where we scatter flowers of faith.

Today is Tuesday, May 14th, and we will be reading John 15, 9-17.

Follow along in your Bible if you have one.

Now let’s read John 15, 9-17.

As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you.

Abide in love.

If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in His love.

These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and your joy may be full.

This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.

Better love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

You are my friends.

If you do what I command you, no longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing.

But I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.

You do not choose me, but I choose and appoint you that you should go and bear fruit, that your fruit should abide.

So whatever you ask my Father in my name, He will give it to you.

This I command to you, to love one another.

What kind of day are you having today?

Are you happy or are you sad?

What are some things that make you happy?

Here are some things that I thought of making me happy.

Getting an unexpected present, my puppy, ice cream, yum.

Spending time with my best friend, a.k.a.

my brother.

And some things I thought of that make me sad are falling down and skinning my knee, making a bad grade in school, feeling all alone, or when someone says something hurtful.

It’s pretty simple.

When something good happens, you are happy, and when you do something bad, you are sad.

Jesus says in the Bible reading for today, I have loved you even as the Father has loved me.

Abide in my love.

I have told you these things so that my joy will be in you, and your joy will be full.

That doesn’t mean that nothing bad will ever happen in your life, but even when you are sad, you can still have joy in your heart because you know that Jesus loves you.

Let’s pray.

In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, dear God, we know that you love your Son, and that your Son loves us.

Help us to remain in His love so that we will be filled with joy.

In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, amen.

Thank you so much for listening.

I’ll be back tomorrow, scattering more flowers.

See ya!
