Hello everyone, welcome back.
My name is Elyse Brooklynn and this is Scattering Flowers, a podcast where we scatter flowers of faith.
Today is Wednesday, May 8th, and we will be reading John 16, 12-15.
Follow along in your Bible if you have one.
Now let’s read John 16, 12-15.
I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.
When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears, he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.
He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you.
All that the Father has is mine, therefore I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you.
Some of us have a smart phone, or you know someone that does.
We use cell phones to share and get information, sometimes by text, sometimes by talking, sometimes through apps, sometimes through the internet.
In today’s scripture, Jesus tells the disciples that there is too much information for him to share in the time that he has with them.
But when Jesus tells the disciples, don’t worry, I’m going to give you God’s holy cell phone so that we can talk later on.
He doesn’t really call it a holy cell phone, it’s the Holy Spirit.
Jesus communicates through the Holy Spirit to his disciples.
Let’s pray.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, dear God, help us to learn from Jesus how to seek you first, so that we can then hear more from Jesus through your Holy Spirit.
Amen.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, amen.
Thank you so much for listening.
I’ll be back tomorrow scattering more flowers.
See ya!
