Hello everyone, welcome back.
My name is Elise Brooklyn, and this is Scattering Flowers, a podcast where we scatter flowers of faith.
Today is Monday, May 6th, and we will be reading John 15, 26, and 27, through 16, through 1, through 4.
Follow along in your Bible if you have one.
Now let’s read John 15, 26, through 27, through 16, through 1, through 4.
But when the Counselor comes, whom shall I send to you from the Father?
In the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness to me, and you also are the witness, because you have been with me from the beginning.
I have said all this to you to keep you from falling away.
They will put you out of the synagogues, indeed, the hour is coming when whoever kills you will think he is offering service to God, and they will do this because they have not known the Father, nor me.
But I have said these things to you, that when their hour comes you may remember that I told you of them.
Do you know what the definition of persecute is?
It means to make fun of or annoy someone constantly because of their beliefs.
We read about how Jesus is telling the disciples specific things so that they won’t fall away or give up when people persecute them.
So next time when you see someone getting made fun of, bullied, or ganged up on, stand up for them, because Jesus promises he always has been and will always be with us.
Let’s pray.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Jesus, thank you for the promises that you have been with us from the beginning and you will never leave us.
Thank you for teaching us through reading Scripture so that I can remember what you have told us.
And please bless those who are currently being persecuted and mistreated because of their faith.
Amen.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Thank you so much for listening.
I’ll be back tomorrow scattering more flowers.
See ya!
