Hello everyone, welcome back.
My name is Elise Brooklynn, and this is Scattering Flowers, a podcast where we scatter flowers of faith.
Today is Friday, May 3rd, and we will be reading John 14, 6-14.
Follow along in your Bible if you have one.
Now let’s read John 14, 6-14.
Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life.
No one comes to the Father but by me.
If you had known me, you would have known my Father also.
Henceforth you know him and have seen him.
Philip said to him, Lord, show us the Father, and we shall be satisfied.
Jesus said to him, I have been with you so long, and yet you do not know me, Philip.
He who has seen me and seen my Father, how can you say, show us the Father?
Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me?
The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works.
Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else believe me for the sake of the works themselves.
Truly truly I say to you, he who believes in me will also do the works that I do.
Whatever works in these will he do, because I go to the Father.
Whatever you ask in my name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
If you ask anything in my name, I will do it.
Me and my little brother have our own house keys.
Mine is on an Eiffel Tower keychain, and my brother’s is on a dinosaur keychain.
Those keys are for the doors to our house.
It’s for a certain lock.
If I try it on my neighbor’s house door, no matter how hard, it will not open that door.
There isn’t a metal key that gets us into heaven, but Jesus is the key.
After Adam and Eve messed up with the first sin, God had a plan to bring us back to him through Jesus, the key of life.
Let’s pray.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Jesus, help us to know how to follow you.
Thank you for unlocking the door to life.
We love you.
Amen.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, amen.
Thank you so much for listening.
I’ll be back next week, scattering more flowers.
See ya!
