Hello everyone, welcome back.
My name is Elise Brooklyn, and this is Scattering Flowers, a podcast where we scatter flowers of faith.
Today is Thursday, May 2nd, and we will be reading John 15, 9, 11.
Follow along in your Bible if you have one.
Now let’s read John 15, 9-11.
As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you.
Abide in my love.
If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love.
Just as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in His love.
These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and your joy may be full.
You know the game hot potato, how you pass the potato as fast as you can so you don’t end up with it when the music ends?
Today’s scripture, Jesus is talking to His disciples about what He wants them to do when He’s gone.
He starts by saying that He’s loved His disciples the same way God loves Him.
And then He tells His disciples to love each other as He has loved them.
In other words, God first loved Jesus, Jesus, the disciples, and the disciples love each other just like passing the hot potato.
Luckily, God has never ending love to give, so our potato doesn’t really get dropped.
Let’s pray.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Jesus, thank you for receiving God’s love and for sharing it with others.
Help us to learn to do the same.
Amen.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Thank you so much for listening.
I’ll be back tomorrow, scattering more flowers.
See ya!
