13. Tuesday, April 30 2024

Hello everyone, welcome back.

My name is Elise Brooklynn, and this is Scattering Flowers, a podcast where we scatter flowers of faith.

Today is Tuesday, April 30th, and we will be reading John 14, 27 through 31.

Follow along in your Bible if you have one.

Now let’s read John 14, 27 through 31.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you.

Not as the world gives do I give you.

Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

You heard me say to you, I go away and I will come to you.

If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I go to the Father, for the Father is greater than I, and now I have told you before it takes place, so that when it does not take place, you may believe.

I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming.

He has no power over me, but I do as the Father has commanded me, so that the world may know that the love of my Father rise.

Let us go from here.

Have you spent time away from someone you love, like a sleepover or a trip where you weren’t home?

You might miss the people you usually spend the most time with.

Sometimes having a little something from home with you always helps because it makes you think of what you left behind, and reminds you that you and it will be together again soon.

Jesus did the same thing before he died.

He told the disciples that he’s going to send them a helper.

He said he wasn’t physically gone, but he was spending the Holy Spirit as a comforter.

Let’s pray.

In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, yes, thank you for the words of the promises of the Holy Spirit.

Help us to remember what that means.

Thank you for your love.

Amen.

In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, amen.

Thank you so much for listening.

I’ll be back tomorrow, scattering more flowers.

See ya!
