Hello everyone, welcome back! My name is Elise Brooklynn, and this is Scattering Flowers, a podcast where we scatter flowers of faith.
Today is Monday, April 29th, and we will be reading John 14, 21-26.
Follow along in your Bible if you have one.
Now let’s read John 14, 21-26.
He who has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me.
And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and manifest myself to him.
Judas, not Assyriot, said to him, Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself to us and not to the world?
Jesus answered him, If a man loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home within him.
He who does not love me does not keep my words, but the Father which you hear is not mine, but the Father who sent me.
These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you.
But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to remembrance all that I have said to you.
I have a riddle for you.
I move very fast, but I don’t have feet.
You can hear me, but not from my mouth.
You can’t see me, you can only hear me.
I’m bigger than an elephant, but lighter than a feather.
What am I?
Did you guess wind?
This reminds me of how Jesus promised the Holy Spirit.
We don’t see the Holy Spirit because he lives inside of us, just like the wind.
Even though we can’t see him, we know that he’s there and bringing comfort to us.
Let’s pray.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Jesus, even though we can’t see you, we know that you are real.
Thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Thank you so much for listening.
I’ll be back tomorrow scattering more flowers.
See ya! Bye!
