Hello everyone, welcome back! My name is Elise Brooklynn, and this is Scattering Flowers, a podcast where we scatter flowers of faith.
Today is Friday, April 19th, and we will be reading John 6, 52-59.
Follow along in your Bible if you have one, now let’s read John 6, 52-59.
The Jews then disputed among themselves, saying, How can this man give us flesh to eat?
So Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.
He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.
For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him.
As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats me will live because of me.
This is the bread which came down from heaven, not such as the fathers ate, but died.
He who eats his bread will live forever.
This he said in the synagogue as he taught at Capernaum.
Jesus says Amen, Amen again today, so let’s listen up.
What he says is important, and he says to eat the flesh and drink the blood.
At first you might think, What?
Why would I eat someone’s body and blood?
But I have learned that this really means he’s in you.
He died for our sins, to save us from sinful ways, by giving his body and blood.
In the Old Testament, before Jesus was born, they used the Lamb’s blood.
We know now that because of Jesus dying on the cross, his body and blood give us life.
Let’s pray.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, thank you for your body and blood, and what you did for us.
Sometimes it’s hard to imagine what you had to go through.
We love you.
Amen.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Thank you so much for listening.
I’ll be back next Monday scattering more flowers.
See ya!
