Hello everyone, my name is Elise Brooklyn and this is Scattering Flowers, a podcast where we scatter flowers of faith.
Today is Monday, April 15th, and we will be reading John 6, 22-29.
Follow along in your Bibles if you have one.
Now let’s read John 6, 22-29.
On the next day, the people who remained on the other side of the sea saw that there had only been one boat there, and that Jesus had not entered the boat with his disciples, but that his disciples had gone away alone.
However, boats from Tiberias came near the place where they ate the bread after the Lord had given thanks.
So the people saw that Jesus was not there, nor his disciples.
They themselves got into the boat and went to Capernaum, seeking Jesus.
When they found him on the other side of the sea, they said to him, Rabbi, when did you come here?
Jesus answered them, Truly, truly, I say to you, you seek me not because you saw signs, but because you ate your fill of the loaves.
Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you, for on him has God the Father set his seal.
When they said to him, What must we do to be doing the works of God?
Jesus answered them, This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.
Have you ever gone a whole day without eating?
I have.
I felt really sick, super dizzy, and grumpy.
We must eat to live.
We must have Jesus to live eternally.
Let’s do a checklist.
Jesus can give eternal life.
Jesus is the bread of life.
Whoever believes in Jesus will have eternal life.
And how do you feed your spirit?
You pray, read your Bible every day, go to Mass, visit Jesus in adoration, and confess your sins.
Your bodies need food to survive, and your hearts and souls need Jesus to survive.
Let’s pray.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Thank you for feeding our souls.
You are the bread of life.
Help us to grow in you.
We love you.
Amen.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Thank you so much for listening.
I’ll be back tomorrow scattering more flowers.
See ya!
